A train guard is in hospital after falling from the Dublin-Limerick train.

A train guard is in hospital after falling from the Dublin-Limerick train.

The guard was seen falling by a gatekeeper near Monard on Monday evening. The train had slowed down as it reached a level crossing. The guard, attempting to close a carriage door, fell to the side of the line. He received a cut to the head and was knocked unconscious. His condition was described as stable in Limerick Regional Hospital.
