GP charged with 2 more murders

London - Dr Harold Shipman (52) was yesterday remanded by a court charged with murdering two more of his women patients. The GP from Hyde, Greater Manchester, who is already accused of four murders, was further accused of the killings of Mrs Ivy Lomas (63) and Mrs Marie Quinn, (67).

The doctor was remanded to December 7th, the date on which he is already due to reappear before magistrates in Ashton-under-Lyne, charged with the murders of three patients, Winifred Mellor and Joan Melia, both 73, and 49-year-old Bianka Pomfret.

He has already been sent for trial to face a charge of murdering 81-year-old widow Kathleen Grundy and forging her will.
