Gardai probe stabbings in Meath, Monaghan and Limerick

A security guard and a plain-clothes garda were taken to hospital after a stabbing incident in Navan, Co Meath last night.

A security guard and a plain-clothes garda were taken to hospital after a stabbing incident in Navan, Co Meath last night.

The security guard at Dunnes Stores in Trimgate Street was stabbed in the hand when he was attacked by two men at around 7.30 p.m.

The garda who arrived at the scene, was also stabbed.

One man has been arrested.

Meanwhile two men were injured in a stabbing incident in Co Monaghan.

Gardaí are investigating the incident at a house in Ballybay. Both men were taken to hospital.

And a man is in a stable condition in hospital in Limerick after he was stabbed during an altercation early this morning.
