Irish farmers face severe drought problems this summer due to record dry weather in recent months, the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association has warned.

The association's president, Mr Frank Allen, said it was vital that farmers and the general public conserved as much water as possible, and that the greenhouse effect was causing strange happenings" in the Irish weather system.
