An army bomb disposal team has made safe a suspicious device found underneath a car on a housing estate in Tallaght.

An army bomb disposal team has made safe a suspicious device found underneath a car on a housing estate in Tallaght.

The device was discovered at about 3am on the Greenhills Drive estate.

The army bomb disposal team made the explosive device safe at the scene without a need for a controlled explosion.

The scene was declared safe at 5am.

The remains of the device have been handed over to gardai for a forensic examination.
