A Turkish man accused of killing two Irish women asked for reporters to be removed from his trial hearing yesterday because he claimed media reports were “depressing” him.
The request came shortly after the defendant, former waiter Recep Cetin, admitted to charges of murdering Marion Graham and Kathy Dinsmore, both aged 53 and from Newry in Co Down, at a court in Izmir, Turkey.
Appearing in court alongside his alleged accomplice father, Erup Cetin, he appealed for the media to be removed from court. He also said his father was innocent.
He said: “I murdered them, that is true. But the media has reported false allegations.”
