Cyclist killed in collision with bus in Thurles

A female cyclist was killed in a road incident in Thurles, Co Tipperary, yesterday.

A female cyclist was killed in a road incident in Thurles, Co Tipperary, yesterday.

The incident happened at about 9.50am when the woman, aged in her 70s, was in a crash involving a bus on Kickham Street in the town.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Limerick, for a postmortem.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.

Forensic collision investigators attended the scene, and the street was later reopened to traffic.
