Man dies after hitting van on Nurney to Kildare road close to Walterstown Cross

A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Co Kildare.

The 25-year-old was involved in a collision with a van at approximately 6.15pm on the Nurney to Kildare road close to Walterstown Cross.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were taken to the morgue at Naas hospital. A postmortem will be carried out on Wednesday.

The driver and passenger in the van were both uninjured in the crash.

Gardaí closed the road to facilitate a forensic examination of the scene and diversions were put in place, affecting local traffic.
