London - The mother of the murdered child, James Bulger, yesterday said she was disappointed by plans to spare his killers from going to prison for at least another year.
Robert Thompson and Jon Venables are set to stay in local authority care until they are 19, prison service sources have confirmed. The pair would then face transfer to a young offenders' institution if they have not completed the minimum sentence which the Lord Chief Justice is expected to announce before they turn 18 in August.
