PARIS - The British Prime Minister, Mr Blair, was the first foreign leader to congratulate Mr Jospin, reports Lara Marlowe. Mr Blair reached him at Le Bourget airport as Mr Jospin was returning to Paris from his constituency early in the morning.
The British Prime Minister also called President Chirac to restate the Britain's desire to continue working with the French.
