Aidan O'Brien's Punchestown scorer, Zinedine, will be out to strike a blow in Italy's top juvenile prize, the Gran Criterium, in Milan tomorrow. Michael Kinane's mount should go well but may have most to fear from the British pair, Al Waffi and Abe, in the Group One event over a mile.

John Dunlop's Irish St Leger second, Silver Patriarch, bids to end a run of four consecutive defeats in the the Group One Gran Premio del Jockey Club (12f). Pat Eddery's mount is part of a field of six runners.

Brian Meehan's Tomba spearheads a three strong British assault on the Group One Prix de la Foret (7f) at Longchamp tomorrow. Last year's third is joined by John Gosden's French 2,000 Guineas third Muhtathir and Richard Hannon's gallic group three winner Andreyev.
