Tiger Woods, who has gone more than three months since his only win of the year, moved into a tie for the lead with David Duval and Australia's Craig Parry after the second round of the World Series of Golf yesterday.
Woods shot a two-under-par 68 at the Firestone Country Club South Course in Akron, Ohio, to move to five-under 135 through 36 holes. Duval, who is just ahead of Woods in second place on the PGA Tour moneylist, fired a fourunder 66, while Parry also had a 68.
The trio shared a two-stroke lead over former champion and first-round leader Phil Mickelson, who followed an opening-round 66 with a one-over 71.
Meanwhile, US Open winner Lee Janzen was disqualified from the World Series yesterday - after a complaint from a television viewer.
The viewer pointed out that Janzen waited too long for his birdie putt to finally drop on the 17th hole in the first round. US PGA Tour officials agreed with the anonymous caller and disqualified Janzen for signing an incorrect scorecard since he failed to add a penalty stroke for his delay.
