"Contrary to popular demand, this site is up and running again in readiness for the new season," says the introduction to the internet home of Accrington Stanley, one of the 12 original members of the English Football League. "And what a season it promises to be. . . that's enough enthusiasm for one year," it continues.

All you get is one page - there is, for example, no virtual tour of their Crown Ground offered - and squad news is a little scant ("We have forgotten all the summer's transfer news. This is mainly due to the fact that nobody who we had heard of has joined Stanley, and nobody who we'd miss has left the club. A couple of players have arrived from Caernarfon, but that's about it").

The site's chief contributor is Uncle Stanley (who "eats battenburg and falls asleep during Countdown"), but he's booked to go into hospital next month for a hip replacement operation so updates will be postponed until he gets home. "Enjoy him while he's still with us," we're advised.
