The Moran Cup, the oldest PGA Irish Region (Southern Branch) professional golf competition in Ireland was played at Royal Dublin yesterday. The winner was Leslie Walker, from Foxrock, who carded a three-under-par 69 to be two shots clear of the field. One of the first players to tee-off was the newly crowned Smurfit Irish Champion Neil Manchip, but his exertions over the previous five days at The Island caught up with him. Manchip had to be content with a share of fifth place after returning a three-over-par 75.
