THE JIM Bolger-Kevin Manning team had to settle for places in both English Classics last weekend but will be hoping to break new ground in Paris tomorrow where Vocalised is a surprise runner in the French 2,000 Guineas.

Last Monday's Tetrarch Stakes winner had been described as an intended starter in the Irish Guineas later this month but instead makes a quick reappearance to replace Intense Focus in the 11-runner Poule D'Essai Des Poulains.

Vocalised is joined by the Aidan O'Brien-trained pair Westphalia (Johnny Murtagh) and Born To Be King (Jamie Spencer) in tomorrow's race as Bolger and Manning attempt to break their duck in the French Classics.

The partnership finished runner-up in both Longchamp Guineas in 2007 where Finsceal Beo was beaten by Darjina and Creachadoir gave best to the O'Brien-trained Astronomer Royal in the 2,000.

Tomorrow Oh Goodness Me represents the Coolcullen team in the fillies Classic, the Poule D'Essai Des Pouliches, where the Park Express Stakes winner has to tackle Luca Cumani's Fantasia as well as the Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Proportional.

Murtagh will be on duty at Lingfield this afternoon when Age Of Aquarius tackles four runners in the Derby trial. The colt is having his first start this season having wound up his two-year-old career with a fourth to Fame And Glory in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud. Aidan O'Brien has a good recent record in the Group Three including scoring with Alessandro Volta last year.

"He is a lovely big horse. The ground there (Saint-Cloud) wouldn't have suited him and fast ground will be ideal," Murtagh said yesterday.

Murtagh was on board Carlito Brigante when winning at Leopardstown last time and is expected to follow up at Dundalk today.
