Mark Flanagan from Kells, Co Meath partnered his first winner when Victory Flight scored in runaway fashion at Navan yesterday evening.

Michael Cunningham's dual purpose gelding stretched clear two furlongs out in the Dermot Smith, Navan Golf Captains Handicap (Division Two) for an effortless six lengths success from River Hopper. "He loves fast ground, and will mix it between the Flat and hurdles over the summer," said Cunningham.

The opening EBF Fillies Maiden provided a dramatic finish, with the whole complexion of the six-furlong event changing in the closing stages.

Alegranza looked sure to score when heading the trail-blazing Pipisflying approaching the final furlong, and going about four lengths clear. However, Bonheur really got going for Colm O'Donoghue on the uphill run to the line and snatched victory.
