St Patrick's, Navan, had it all too easy as they trounced New Ross CBS to reach the second round of the Leinster Schools Senior Cup.

Full-back Philip Treacy was the most impressive player on the field and scored five tries.

Treacy and John Baker crossed the line in the first half to help the winners to a 12-0 interval lead.

New Ross were held scoreless until late in the second half when some good work by Paddy Walsh and Daragh Harnedy produced a try by Harnedy.
