SLIGO ROVERS moved into second position in the Premier Division when they came from behind with just five minutes left in this exciting north west derby at Ballybofey.

After a tightly contested opening half, which brought few chances, the game exploded into life in the second half before a capacity crowd of over 3,500.

Veteran midfielder Pierce Walsh put Finn Harps in front after 52 minutes when his powerful free kick completely deceived the Sligo goalkeeper, Alan O'Neill.

The visitors, however, dictated the majority of play subsequently as the Finn Harps midfield seemed to drop out of the game.

The excellent James Mulligan should have levelled the score but was denied by a terrific one on one save by home goalkeeper, David Platt in the 58th minute.

With just five minutes remaining Chris Rutherford's impressive outfit deservedly snatched a share of the points.

Finn Harps failed to clear a free kick from the left flank, allowing Lee Thew to pounce from close range to level the scores.
