A MAURAUDING performance from the St Columba's pack, led by number eight Patrick Syme, provided the platform for a comprehensive six-try victory over Sandford Park in the Leinster Schools Senior Cup second-round tie at Kilgobbin yesterday.

Out-half Karl Jennings used his possession astutely, often opting for the pace of William Passmore, who set Fergus Drake up for a try after a tight opening quarter. Syme increased the lead when he burrowed over from close range. Nicholas Wheeler converted.

Wheeler added a penalty before setting Syme up for his second try to make it 20-0 at the break. Five minutes into the second half Jennings put Passmore through for a try, again converted by Wheeler.

The hooker then added the points after Keane and Halford combined to send Drake-Lee through again. The rampant pack drove over for a final try claimed by prop Joseph Moran.
