BADMINTON:Top men's seed Mattias Wigardt from Sweden will face Dutch player Jordy Hilbink in the quarter-finals of the men's singles at the Irish Future Series in Baldoyle, Dublin, today. Ireland's Tony Stephenson will play number two seed Maxime Michel from France after he beat fellow Irish international Stuart Lightbody; Michel beat Irish junior Jonathan Dolan.
In the women’s singles, Ireland’s Jennie King went out to top seed Perrine Le Buhanic (France), who will play Ireland’s Alannah Stephenson in today’s quarter-finals. Also through is the Ireland’s Sinead Chambers.
Dolan and Alannah Stephenson caused an upset in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles when they put out top seeds Ciarán Chambers and Sinead Chambers.
