Sport pages beat the comics

American teenagers aged between 12 and 17 prefer to read the sports section and the comics in the daily newspapers. In a survey conducted by Teenage Research Limited, on behalf of the Newspaper Association of America, 59 per cent of respondents named the sports section as their most frequent reading and 43 per cent the comics pages.

However, 40 per cent said that they also read the front pages of newspapers. Phew! As the most important source of information, 47 per cent mentioned the daily newspaper and only 32 per cent television.
