Annika Sorenstam's bid for a fifth consecutive LPGA title fell by the wayside as she skidded to a final-round 75, four over for the tournament and 12 shots behind the winner Se Ri Pak.

Pak fired a one-under par 71 to win the Longs Challenge in Lincoln, California as a season long run without a victory for US players on the tour stretched to 10 events.

Pak finished at eight-under par 208 to defeat American Laura Diaz by two strokes in the event, shortened to 54 holes after a thunderstorm wiped out play on Friday.

birdied the 16th. Diaz bogeyed the 18th and Pak birdied the 17th in a two-shot swing that decided the $800,000 event.

"I thought there might be a playoff after 17," Pak said. "But I just tried to give myself good opportunities. I knew I had a one-shot lead on 18. I tried to play the last two or three holes well and get a chance to win."

Pak, who won the season opening event in Florida, claimed her 10th career title and the 10th by an international player in as many LPGA events this year. "Yes, Americans have not won this year," said Diaz. "But we're all trying."

Sorenstam won the previous four and was trying to become the first to win five consecutive scheduled tournaments, but ended in a tie for 42nd place.
