Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni was forced to make a late change for the friendly clash with Colombia after Damien Duff succumbed to illness.

The Newcastle winger was laid low by sinusitis with Andy Keogh, whose late equaliser as a substitute secured his side a 1-1 draw with Serbia on Saturday, taking his place.

Trapattoni otherwise stuck with the side he announced on Tuesday evening, and that meant starts for Manchester United defender John O'Shea and Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.
