Irish round-up: Shelbourne edged ahead of Derry and Linfield in the race for the remaining Setanta Cup semi-final berths after a 3-0 win at Glentoran tonight. Derry's historic meeting with Linfield ended in a 0-0 draw.
A Jason Byrne double, either side of an Ollie Cahill strike, earned all three points and moved Shels top of Group Two on eight points, one point ahead of Linfield.
Derry, who hosted Linfield at the Brandywell for the first time in three and a half decades, remain in contention but will need to win when the visit Tolka Park in the group's final round of matches next Monday to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages.
In Group One, Drogheda United could be forgiven for taking their eye of the ball having already qualified for the last four, going down 2-1 to fellow semi-finalists Cork City. The group's other tie saw Dungannon Swifts win 2-1 at Portadown.
