Bray Wanderers 1 Dundalk 5:Mark Quigley score a first-half hat-trick at the Carlisle Grounds as Dundalk climbed above both Bray and Bohemians into fifth place in the Premier Division table.

It was Bray’s third straight loss in the league after they made a flying start to the season, with their cause not helped by a red card for Joe Kendrick after 30 minutes.

Bray had just levelled the match at 1-1 following Quigley’s fine opener after 10 minutes, when he fired home with the left.

Danny O’Connor equalised for the home side with a header from Chris Shields’ cross on 26 minutes before left back Kendrick was given his marching orders for taking down Quigley, who fired home the penalty to re-establish Dundalk’s lead.

And Quigley made it three just before half-time to all but secure the points.

Quigley turned provider for Mark Griffin to score their fourth, with Keith grabbing a fifth deep into injury time.

Quigley’s was not the only hat-trick of the night as Limerick FC’s Jeffrey Judge grabbed three in Limerick’s 5-0 demolition of Monaghan United in their EA Sports Cup quarter-final at Jackman Park. Thomas Lyons, with a penalty, and Garbhan Coughlan grabbed the other goals.
