Massimo Moratti insists Inter Milan won't make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo despite recent speculation.

The Italian giants have been linked with Ronaldo after their manager Roberto Mancini claimed he wanted the Manchester United star on Sunday.

Reports in Italy have now suggested the Nerazzurri could be preparing a £33.7million summer bid for the Portuguese international, who has also been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However Moratti believes prising Ronaldo from Old Trafford, where he is enjoying a sensational season for Sir Alex Ferguson's team, won't be an easy task.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is really a sensational player, but he represents Man Utd and that means it would be very difficult to sign him," Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"And I also don't think for us that he is an absolute requirement.

"I enjoy the fact that Mancini thinks of this, but I repeat, we must leave him to Manchester."
