Newcastle will make a late decision on midfielder Moussa Sissoko who has missed the last two games with a groin problem but is back in training. Striker Papiss Cisse is in contention after sitting out the League Cup victory over Northampton through illness, full back Daryl Janmaat will hope for a return to league action after serving his one-match ban, and recent signing Florian Thauvin is in the running for a first league start.

Arsenal could be without defenders Per Mertesacker (chest infection) and Laurent Koscielny (back). Striker Danny Welbeck (knee) and midfielder Jack Wilshere (leg) are due to return after the upcoming international break. Tomas Rosicky (knee) remains a longer-term absentee.

Aston Villa (14) v Sunderland (19)
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood could be without several players through illness. The manager has refused to name those suffering and remains hopeful they will be available. Adama Traore is a major doubt, after the winger limped out of the Capital One Cup win over Notts County on Tuesday with an ankle injury.

Sunderland new boy Ola Toivonen will come straight into the reckoning for a place in Dick Advocaat’s attack. Jeremain Lens and Billy Jones return to contention after missing the midweek League Cup win over Exeter as a precaution. Striker Steven Fletcher has recovered from a slight concussion sustained against Exeter but full back Adam Matthews (ankle) is out for up to six weeks.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is set to pick from the squad which secured the club's first Premier League win at West Ham last weekend. His side suffered a "couple of knocks" after their League Cup victory against Hartlepool, but there are no major new concerns. Republic of Ireland internationalHarry Arter remains sidelined with a groin injury.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is set to hand a first Premier League start to recent recruit Gokhan Inler. Ranieri changed his entire team for the 4-1 League Cup win at Bury and will revert to trusted league players. Joe Dodoo, who scored a debut hat-trick at Bury, is travelling to Bournemouth while Leonardo Ulloa is pushing to start after playing in midweek.

Chelsea will be without suspended captain John Terry, meaning Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma are likely to line up in central defence. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was without captain Jordan Henderson (foot) and midfielder Adam Lallana (thigh) for Monday's draw at Arsenal and the same is likely to apply against West Ham. Rodgers must decide whether to retain Lucas Leiva in central midfield or bring in the more attacking Jordon Ibe.

Striker Diafra Sakho is expected to be available for West Ham following a groin problem, but defender Carl Jenkinson serves a one-match ban. Goalkeeper Adrian remains suspended, while defender Joey O’Brien (calf) and strikers Enner Valencia (leg) and Mauro Zarate (hamstring) are out. Andy Carroll (knee) is back in training but unlikely to be selected until next month.

Watford will have Uruguayan defender Miguel Britos suspended after he was sent off in the League Cup defeat at Preston. Other than Britos and long-term absentee Joel Ekstrand (knee), coach Quique Sanchez Flores will pick from a full-strength squad.

Saido Berahino could return for West Brom at Stoke. The striker has had a transfer request rejected, and has missed the last two games while Tottenham have had two bids turns down. Winger Callum McManaman picked up a niggle and midfielder Chris Brunt a hamstring problem on League Cup duty against Port Vale. Goalkeeper Ben Foster remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury.

Winger Bryan Oviedo may slot in at left back again as Brendan Galloway (knee) remains a doubt and Leighton Baines (ankle) is out injured, along with Steven Pienaar (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (knee) and Darron Gibson (foot).

Playmaker Adnan Januzaj has been ruled out of Manchester United’s plans because of a hip problem. Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini are contenders to replace the Belgian. Defender Phil Jones (mild thrombosis) remains out and goalkeeper David de Gea is still sidelined due to Real Madrid’s interest in him affecting his focus.
