Billy Davies has declared himself open to offers after emerging as one of the leading contenders to replace Alex McLeish as Scotland boss.

Davies (43) lost his job as Derby boss yesterday but McLeish will restore the quota of Scots managing in the Premier League when he is unveiled as Birmingham manager tomorrow.

Davies took Derby into the top flight in his first season after succeeding in the play-offs following two failed attempts with unfancied Preston.

The Scottish Football Association will meet to discuss their recruitment process tomorrow morning and Davies did not discourage them from making an approach.

"I'm very open to listen to anything that is offered or put on the table," the former Motherwell boss told the BBC.

"I'm not ruling anything out. If somebody wants to talk to me I will listen and then make a decision.

"The Scotland job is one you don't apply for - the Scottish Football Association know exactly who they want to put in place and the type of man they're looking for.

"You'd be flattered if you can get your name down for it, but everybody in Scotland would want to manage the national team and that would always be the case."
