Bolton 2-0 Liverpool:Bolton enjoyed yet more Premiership success over Liverpool as goals from Gary Speed and Ivan Campo handed them a 2-0 win at the Reebok Stadium.

The visitors fashioned the first opening of the game in the eighth minute when Dirk Kuyt's header from Steven Gerrard's free-kick was pushed away by Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Rafael Benitez's men were unlucky not to take the lead when Craig Bellamy's cross was cleared only as far as Xabi Alonso and the Spaniard rattled the post with a superb 20-yard volley.

However, Bolton broke the deadlock in controversial circumstances in the 30th minute, when Jose Reina was harshly adjudged to have carried the ball out of his area when clearing upfield and Speed lashed home the resulting free-kick - with Reina diving the wrong way behind his wall.

Liverpool looked for an immediate response, with Gerrard having a thunderous volley parried by Jaaskelanien.

But Bolton doubled their lead six minutes after the break when Kevin Davies' splendid cross from the right was met by a thumping header from Campo which flew in off the bar.

The visitors immediately stepped up the pace of their game, with Alonso and substitute Luis Garcia both testing Jaaskelainen from distance while Gerrard hit the side-netting late on as Bolton held on comfortably.
