Soccer: The threat of a winding up order hanging over Bohemians has been removed after the club reached an agreement with the two players who took legal action against it.

Brian Shelley and Steven Gray brought a court action against the club earlier this month, having not been paid since the end of November, but their legal representative has revealed the matter is now resolved.

“The players have reached agreement for termination of their contracts and these details will remain confidential,” said solicitor Stuart Gilhooly in a statement this afternoon. “The winding up petition will now be struck out.

“The players would like to record their disappointment at how the matter was handled by the board and the length of time that they were left without any payment.

“They are, however, pleased to put the matter behind them and would like to wish the fans of the club well for the future. They are both now seeking employment elsewhere.”
