FIJI'S Vijay Singh won the rain-shortened PGA Memorial tournament in Dublin, Ohio, yesterday by two strokes from Australian Greg Norman. Singh posted a five-under-par final round of 67 to collect the $342,000 winner's cheque for his first title since 1995.

He finished on 202 - 14 under par - for the event, which was shortened to 54 holes after rain washed out most of the scheduled weekend play.

American Scott Hoch led after two rounds and shared the lead when rain halted play on Sunday, but hurt his back on the 11th hole, the first he played yesterday, and surrendered three strokes over the final four holes. That dropped Hoch out of the lead into a share of third at 205 along with Tommy Tolles and Lee Janzen.

Course architect Jack Nicklaus finished on 208, 13 strokes better than the phenomenal Tiger Woods, who suffered his worst tournament of the year, ending on 221 after a 74.
