The European Women's Tour, who have lost main sponsors American Express, suffered another setback yesterday with the withdrawal of the prestigious Hennessy Cup tournament.

The Hennessy, regarded by the top players as a major event on their Tour, has run for 13 years, but the Hennessy company have decided to review their marketing strategy and redirect funds towards new horizons.

Four former US Open champions have won the Hennessy Cup, including Laura Davies, who triumphed in Cologne, Germany, this year.
