Rutherford goes north

Mark Rutherford's stopstart career at Shelbourne appeared finally to end yesterday when the player completed a move to Irish League side Newry Town for whom he is expected to make his debut against Glentoran this afternoon.

The left-sided midfielder who had originally left Tolka Park just after the season started in order to return to England was drafted back in a couple of weeks ago when a long-term injury to James Keddy forced Dermot Keely into a rethink.
