Ulster caretaker coach Steve Williams has today named an unchanged side to that which lost against Bourgoin last Friday ahead of their trip to Galway this for Friday night for the Magners League game against Connacht at the Sportsground.

Williams defended his decision to stick with the same 22, and despite the bruising battle in France, there have been no real injury concerns this week.

"It is very much a case of keeping with the same 22, we need to finish the job that we started in France and it is up to the same group of players to finish it this week," said Williams.

Ulster who were much improved in their first half performance against Bourgoin provided the management and supporters with some much-needed positives.

"We led for most of the game and we now know what allowed them back in, it was us and not them that made the errors. We all have a clear idea in our minds what we need to do on Friday night."

Ulster are currently at the bottom of the Magners League with Connacht just one point above them. Connacht have not beaten Ulster for almost two years and whoever loses on Friday will drop to the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile Connacht coach Michael Bradley has named a 27-man squad while waiting on fitness reports on a number of players before naming his starting line-up tomorrow.

Mel Deane comes back into the squad after missing the 75-8 European Challenge Cup win over Spanish Cetransa El Salvador through injury.

Andy Dunne, who joined Connacht at the start of the season but who has been out of action since suffering a knee injury in the pre-season clash with South Africa, is named in the squad and could make his competitive debut. Dunne successfully returned to club action at the weekend.

Former Irish international Matt Mostyn is also included in the extended squad.

"It is great to see the likes of Andy and Matt coming back from long-term injuries as they will give us options at the back," said Bradley.

"Injuries are an ongoing issue in rugby and we just need to check on a few others before finalising the team and the bench for this match.

"It is a big game for us and everyone is looking forward to it, not least as there should be a great atmosphere in the Sportsground on Friday night."

John Hearty and John Lyne are both ruled out through injury.
