Ulster’s Stuart Olding out for the season

Centre who debuted for Ireland in the summer ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament

More bad news for Irish rugby came from Ulster on Monday evening, as it was confirmed centre Stuart Olding has been ruled out for the season.

The 20-year-old, who debuted for Ireland against the USA in June, injured his knee in the Ulster Ravens win over Connacht Eagles at Deramore Park on Friday.

“A scan today revealed that he has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and will require surgery,” an Ulster statement read this evening.

“He will therefore be out for the rest of this season.”
