Rugby – squad news:Ulster will look to build on their recent good form that included last weekend's win against Bath in their opening Heineken Cup encounter, but coach Brian McLaughlin warns that it counts for nothing as they prepare to take on Edinburgh in their own back yard.

"We gained a great result against Bath last week, but while we are delighted with it, we can't dwell on it,” said McLaughlin, who named a 25-man squad ahead of Saturday’s difficult trip to Murrayfield.

“Now we have to move on and perform at Murrayfield, against a very powerful side. We must and will remain focused, because if we get carried away with ourselves we'll underachieve.

Edinburgh brought a physical element to the game when they last played Ulster and defeated them 16-13 in the Magners League at Ravenhill last month. Rob Moffat’s side also pushed European champions Leinster all the way before eventually losing 19-21 on their home turf in the Magners League at the end of September.

"This is a young squad and we still have a lot to learn. There's a long way to go," added McLaughlin.

The in-form Ian Humphreys and Paddy Wallace are named at this early stage among the backs, while Stephen Ferris is also named in the squad.

McLaughlin will name his match day 23 at noon on Friday with kick-off on Saturday at 3.45pm.

In Leinster it remains uncertain if captain Leo Cullen will be fit to play away to Brive on Saturday after the lock injured an ankle during training this week.

If Cullen fails to recover in time it could mean a start for veteran Malcolm O’Kelly alongside Nathan Hines with the prospect of Devin Toner or Trevor Hogan coming as cover on the bench.
