Ireland A 35 Scotland A 10: The Irish second string proved far superior to their Scottish counterparts at a sparsely populated RDS tonight.

Jonathon Sexton gave an accomplished performance at outhalf, grabbing the opening try and slotting over six kicks at goal, while there were eye-catching displays from man-of-the-match Sean O’Brien, Eoin Reddan and Cian Healy.

Sexton had already put Ireland 9-0 to the good by the time he scored the games opening try, crashing over in the corner having been put clear by O’Brien.

Ruardhi Jackson finally got the visitors on the board in first-half injury time to leave it 14-3 at the interval.
