Saracens 19-10 Ospreys:  Saracens booked their first Heineken Cup semi-final place via a deserved 19-10 victory over a disappointing Ospreys at Vicarage Road.

A try from replacement Francisco Leonelli and some top-drawer kicking from Glen Jackson saw off the Welsh regional side, who had been regarded as strong pre-match favourites.

Alan Gaffney's side will now face 2006 winners Munster who beat Gloucester 16-3 on Saturday.

Chris Paterson's goalkicking accuracy deserted him in Gloucester's hour of need - and 2006 European champions did not require a second invitation to seal their progress.

Paterson had kicked 33 successive goals at Test level, including 17 in a row at the World Cup last autumn, but three botched strikes during the opening 22 minutes in Gloucester's biggest game for years allowed Munster an unexpected reprieve.

And Gloucester were made to pay as Munster moved into their seventh Heineken Cup semi-final. Wings Ian Dowling and Doug Howlett scored tries in each half, and with fly-half Ronan O'Gara slotting two penalties, Gloucester had to concede second-best.

Australian fullback Peter Hewat booted London Irish into the Heineken Cup semi-finals as feared French club Perpignan were crushed 20-9 at the Madejski Stadium.

Back row Declan Danaher crossed in the first half but it was the superb Hewat who made the biggest impression on the scoreboard with five penalties, landing him the man-of-the-match award.

Perpignan's response came from South African Percy Montgomery who booted nine points with his side failing to capitalise on two dominant spells in the first half.
