Kilcoyne to miss end of season and New Zealand tour with neck injury

O’Mahony returns to full training as Munster issue injury update ahead of Cardiff clash

Munster prop Dave Kilcoyne is set to miss the rest of the season, including Ireland's tour of New Zealand, after being ruled out to a period of up to 12 weeks. The loosehead will have surgery this week on a neck injury.

John Hodnett, who picked up a knee injury during Friday night's win over Ulster, is set to meet with a specialist and looks unlikely to play against Cardiff. Chris Cloete was taken out of the same game with a head and neck injury and will undergo the return to play protocols.

There is some good injury news for the province as Peter O'Mahony has returned to full training after picking up a knock in the Champions Cup win over Exeter on Easter weekend. Niall Scannell is also set to increase his training load either towards the end of this week or at the beginning of next week.

Munster take on Cardiff at Musgrave Park on Friday night. Kick-off is at 7.35pm.
