Leinster’s Ben Te’o out for six weeks with broken arm

Leinster centre Ben Te'o will be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing an operation on the broken arm he suffered in Friday night's Pro 12 victory over Edinburgh at the RDS.

The 27-year-old New Zealander was making his Leinster debut , but lasted just 19 minutes before being replaced by Steve Crosbie.

A press release from Leinster Rugby on Sunday stated that the former Rugby League player underwent a successful operation on Saturday morning and that he “ is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks depending on his recovery”.

Australian secondrow Kane Douglas was another Leinster player who failed to make it to half-time in the 33-8 victory after he was replaced following a blow to the head. He will be assessed by the Leinster medical team as part of the return to play protocols.

Douglas's replacement Ben Marshall went on to score Leinster's bonus-point securing fourth try against the Scottish side.

Leinster are next in action away to Treviso on Sunday November 23rd after the break for autumn internationals.
