Rugby:Connacht's Robbie Morris has been handed a three-week ban by the IRFU disciplinary committee after they upheld the citing complaint made against the player for his alleged strike on Ulster's TJ Anderson during their Magners League game last Friday.

The hearing took place in the IRFU Head office in Lansdowne this evening and was heard under a disciplinary committee chaired by David Martin who was assisted by Philip Orr and George Spotswood.

“Having studied the match footage and heard all available evidence, the disciplinary committee upheld the citing and that the player was guilty of an act of foul play,” the statement read.

“The committee imposed a three week suspension commencing from today, 29th September 2009 and terminating on the 20th of October 2009.”
