Ireland Under-20 coach Eric Elwood has named an unchanged side ahead of his side's push for an unprecedented Six Nations Grand Slam against Italy in Benevento this Friday.

Ireland clinched the Triple Crown last week with a 31-8 win over Scotland and Elwood sees no reason for change as they chase an unprecedented clean sweep in the Santa Colomba Stadium.

Speaking today, however, Elwood was keen to stress that the side needed to concentrate on a performance rather than the accolades will come with a win.

"We all know what a great opportunity this is, but rather then focus on the prize at the end, we are looking for the players to focus on the performance," said the former Ireland outhalf.

"In the last game against Scotland, we probably had a certain amount of nerves and we played a little bit within ourselves in the first half, but the second half was a vast improvement and near the levels of where we wanted.

Elwood expects the young Italians to present a similar challenge to their senior counterparts.

"Italy will be a big challenge and will be very physical up front as they have shown in their previous games, so we have to be able to meet that challenge.

"Overall, the championship has allowed the players to really prosper and play to their potential and if they continue to do that, hopefully we will be on the right side of the result".

Last week's win over Scotland came after narrow victories over England, France and Wales.
