Rugby - Team News: Ulster's Ian Humphreys will line out for Ireland A against Tonga in familiar surroundings on Friday night but with the relative stranger by his side in Peter Stringer.

Humphreys usually has the service of Isaac Boss at Ravenhill but New Zealand-born scrumhalf will have to make do with a place on the bench, as will provincial team-mates Dan Tuohy and Bryan Young.

Darren Cave, however, will form the central partnership outside Humphreys with Leinster’s Fergus McFadden, with the latter installed at inside centre.

Shane Horgan’s demotion to the second string has been softened slightly by his selection as captain on the right wing, with Ulster’s Andrew Trimble on the blindside and Connacht’s Gavin Duffy at fullback.

Ulster’s Chris Henry is at number eight, beside former Ravenhill stalwart Neil Best and Leinster’s Seán O’Brien.

A vacancy has been left at hooker pending the senior team announcement tomorrow, with either John Fogarty or Seán Cronin likely to be dropped in if Jerry Flannery is fit to face Australia.

Mike Ross and Brett Wilkinson will prop whoever is selected.
