Irish Under-19 international Garret Rossi provided the highlight as St Paul's brushed aside the challenge of beaten Section A finalists Marian College at Sydney Parade. Full-back Rossi stamped his class upon the proceedings with an individual run from inside his own half for his side's third try after 27 minutes.

Marian had fought a gallant rearguard action during the opening quarter and it took a physically stronger St Paul's side 20 minutes before winger JJ Grogan put the finishing touch in the corner to a flowing back-line move.

Marian's failure to find touch was punished as Jack Quinn and David O Siochain quickly combined to put out-half Mark Duignan in for a second try which Rossi converted from the touchline.

There was never much likelihood of a Marian comeback but Mark Egan and gutsy flanker David O'Reilly led their resistance during an evenly balanced second half. But St Paul's always carried a more potent threat behind the scrum. Mick O'Shea darted over for his side's fourth try and Rossi added his second which he converted himself.
