St Mullin's won their 10th Carlow senior title yesterday with a resounding 15-point win over defending champions, Naomh Eoin of Myshall, in a one-sided replay before an attendance of 3,000 at Dr Cullen Park.

A week earlier St Mullin's had lost an early 10-point lead and had to fight back to earn a replay. In yesterday's game they stormed into a 1-7 to nil lead after 15 minutes and built on the advantage.

A second St Mullin's goal from a free from centre forward Pat Coady enabled them to lead 2-10 to 0-2 at half-time.

Naomh Eoin's fate was sealed early in the second half as St Mullin's captain, David Doyle, scored the side's third goal which was quickly followed by a fourth from a semi-penalty by Pat Coady. St Mullin's thus led by a massive 4-11 to 0-2 and there was no way back for the defending champions.
