Mark Collins shot the lights out at Sutton golf club during the recent Golf Foundation competition. The one handicapper senior cup player lowered the course record on the par-70 course to 63. Five pars in the opening five holes did not give notice of what was to come over the remaining 14 holes. A birdie two at the short par-three sixth started the birdie blitz. Three more birdies at the 7th, 8th and 9th took Collins to the turn in 31, four under par.

He began the back nine with another birdie three at the 10th. A birdie four at the 12th was followed by four pars before he finished off his birdie blitz when he holed from 10 feet at the 17th. A par at the last took him home in three-under-par 32, and his round of 63 yielded 44 points.
