Glasgow Rangers took a major stride towards retaining the Scottish Premier League title last night after a convincing 4-0 win against Dundee United at Tannadice.

Goals from American Tony Vidmar, a David Partridge own goal, Rod Wallace and substitute Neil McCann mean Rangers are now nine points ahead of second-placed Celtic.

The two Glasgow giants have played the same amount of games, but Celtic face an uphill task in bridging the gap if they are to wrestle the title from Rangers with less than half the season to go.
