A NICK PRICE's two under par 69 maintained his one shot lead after the second round of the MCI Classic at Hilton Head Island in South Carolina yesterday.

Price has a 36 hole total of eight under, one shot better than Lennie Clements, Rick Fehr and Brad Faxon and three ahead of John Maginnes.

Forty year old Price is seeking his first victory since winning five times in 1994 en route to his second straight PGA Player of the Year award.

Colin Montgomerie is on one over par four shots ahead of Nick Faldo and eight clear of Sandy Lyle.

Two time champion Tom Watson, who won this event in 1979 and 1982, was four shots back on 138 after a 70. Watson is coming off a fourth place finish at last week's Masters.

Defending champion Loren Roberts had an even par 71, for a one over total of 143.

. Nanci Bowen fired a career best seven under par 65 to take a one stroke lead in the inaugural Susan G Komen International women's golf tournament at Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

Bowen led Lisa Kiggens and Canada's Nancy Harvey, both on 66, while seven players, including Sweden's Annika Sorenstam, were on four under.

Sorenstam has already won three tournaments this season, including a play off victory over Pamela Kometani two weeks ago.

The Komen International is named after the official national charity of the LPGA, the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
