Prescott bid

The English Cambridgshire winner Pasternak will run in Saturday's Golden Pages Handicap at Leopardstown

The English Cambridgshire winner Pasternak will run in Saturday's Golden Pages Handicap at Leopardstown. The Sir Mark Prescott-trained five-year-old was runner-up in last Saturday's John Smiths Cup at York, but Prescott said yesterday: "He definitely runs at Leopardstown and George Duffield will ride."

It will be Pasternak's first appearance in Ireland, but Prescott has a fine record at Leopardstown with his multi-Group race-winning Wizard King.

Xaar, unraced since his 2,000 Guineas flop at Newmarket in May, is among seven acceptors for the Group Two Prix Eugene Adam at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday.

Europe's star juvenile of 1997 may face Henry Cecil's St James's Palace Stakes winner, Dr Fong, who was third in the Prix Jean Prat on a prior French visit.

The other British acceptor is Paul Cole's Evening World.

Frankie Dettori recorded a 33 to 1 hat-trick at Yarmouth yesterday. The former champion scored on the John Gosden-trained pair Migrate and Niki before enjoying an armchair ride when wearing the blue Godolphin silks on Doomna in the EBF Tunstall Fillies Conditions Stakes. Doomna was sent off at 2 to 7 and backers never had an anxious moment.
