West Cork may be a "place apart" but it's all coming together at the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery for next weekend's Pitch and Putt Extravaganza sponsored by Esat Telecom for the RTE People in Need Telethon 2000. The competition will be played at the Warren Pitch and Putt Club in Rosscarbery. This is one of the larger events to be hosted in Cork and will feature International players Ray Murphy, Irish matchplay champion in 1998, and Norma Hill of Douglas, the former women's matchplay and strokeplay champion.
Georgina O'Brien of Collins and Liam O'Brien of Douglas will also take part in an event which is expected to raise in excess of £10,000 through a series of well co-ordinated events culminating in the Pitch and Putt Extravaganza.
